“John,” my husband’s colleague, a 40 year old divorcee with 3 kids, was asking my husband if I had any single girlfriends for him. My husband told him that I had plenty of single girlfriends (true) who would love to go out with him (false). So last time John stopped by our place they approached me for referrals.

When I tell you about a first date that one of my girlfriends went on, you’re not going to believe it.

She had met – I’ll call him “The Stand Up Guy” – at a speed dating event, and they made plans to go on a “real” date together.

The plan was to meet in downtown NYC for lunch. As with many first dates, the food was the best part.

Wouldn’t you love it if every time you changed something about your appearance your man noticed? Or if he complimented you on the way you styled your hair? Or if he told you how much he missed you or how much he had been thinking about you all day? Of course you’d love that! Any woman would!

Believe it or not, you man would appreciate it if you did the same for him. A man needs reassurance and compliments way more than a woman.
