Yes, that’s right, it’s a business. The problem I see with most girls who are having trouble starting or maintaining their relationships is that they think it’s all pleasure and no business. There is a very distinct difference. That’s why we all know the question “business or pleasure?”
Here’s how it works:
Let’s say you are the type of girl who is looking for a long-term relationship and you meet a guy who is not quite ready to settle down. What does this mean in business terms? It means you are ready to open a business with someone- to make mutual investments to a united future, see your business grow, and get out at least as much as you put in. This is the type of business you want to enter.
A guy who is still dating and is not ready to settle down means that he is still researching the type of business he wants to start. He may never want to go into a long term business. He may open a business and then sell it and then buy another business and then sell it. Get it?
Also, if a man is just getting out of a relationship, hence closing a business, then it’s probably not likely that he will want to start another business right after. People need time to rebuild their assets after their business goes- well, out-of-business.
So what should you do? Well, once you meet someone, take time to figure out if you two are compatible. Find out if you can love the person that he is. All of this is important. This is the pleasure part and requires no thinking or stressing. However, be very aware of the moment at which you want more than just pleasure- the moment at which you are ready to make your initial investment into the business. Once you’re ready, you need to estimate if he would make a good business partner. Can you trust him? Is willing to make an equal investment into the business? A relationship requires a 50/50 investment. Can you trust him with all your assets? Such as finances, feelings, and your future…
Lastly, make sure that he has the kinds of qualities that you would require of a business partner. Most important (I hope) is trust. You wouldn’t want to go into a business with someone who you don’t trust. Also important, motivation- no business can succeed without this. Financial stability- no matter how good of a relationship you may have with your man, it may not be the right time to start a business with him if he is financially unstable.
Girls, if you find yourselves wondering if you are with the right guy, go back and reevaluate whether or not you two would make perfect business partners. If you can’t run a business together, you should consider entering a different market.
